| CORE CURRICULUM |
Pre-MBA is a full time integrated program. Students attend classes during the day Monday through Friday, 20 to 25 hours per week. Instructional hours may vary by course. The academic areas covered during Pre-MBA are designed to prepare students for the challenges of the standard business curriculum of most U.S. MBA programs. Business areas include
Foundations of Economic Analysis, Statistics Principles, Principles of
Management and Strategy, Financial Accounting Principles, Marketing
Principles, and Information Technology Principles. Furthermore, the primary objectives of the curriculum are to introduce American business fundamentals and to add a competitive advantage for students to succeed on a graduate level.

| FOUNDATIONS OF ECONOMIC ANALYSIS [NCG PEC1] | |
| This course focuses on an introductory understanding of topics covered in economics and their application in the business world. |
| FOUNDATIONS OF MARKETING [NCG PMK1] | |
| This course surveys the marketing activities and decisions of both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations involved in providing need-satisfying products and services to consumers in domestic and global markets. The overall goal of the course is to provide students with a working knowledge of the fundamental marketing concepts. |
| FOUNDATIONS OF MANAGEMENT & STRATEGY [NCG PMG1] | |
| This course is designed to provide a basic exploration of organizations in their environments and provide an introduction to the management process. The foundational tools of planning, organizing, directing and controlling will be examined, with an emphasis on the strategic management process. |
| FOUNDATIONS OF FINANCIAL ACCOUTING [NCG PAC1] |
| The course focuses on accounting as a system for financial information about business events, emphasizing the basic financial statements of the balance sheet, income statement, and the statement of cash flows. Students will understand the transformation of information through the use of the double entry paradigm and generally accepted accounting principles. This course assumes no prior accounting knowledge. |
| FOUNDATIONS OF MANAGERIAL ACCOUTING [NCG PAC2] |
| The course is an introduction to the knowledge and skills relevant to the internal use of accounting techniques to support management decision and budgeting for business operations. Management accounting methods, terms and practices are covered, as well as an introduction to financial management, including time value of money. |
| FOUNDATIONS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY [NCG PTE1] |
| This course is intended to be an introduction to the many facets of Information Systems within a global economy. Students will be exposed to many arenas in which Information Systems and Technologies are used to support decision making. |
| DEVELOPMENTAL COURSES |
In addition to the above core curriculum, the following developmental courses are offered. Writing Seminars, Business Communications, and Computer Applications. |
| WRITING SEMINAR [NCG 5V01] | |
| Students attend five writing seminars over the 13-week period. GSM Administration and faculty guest lecture to the students for an hour in their field of expertise. Following the seminar, each student is responsible for writing a short summary of the lecture. Writing seminars engage the students to think about the topic, focus on their written communication and writing techniques, and also prepare the students for the rigorous demands of writing on a graduate level. |
| BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS [NCG 5057] | |
| Designed for both native speakers of English and advanced speakers of English as a second language, this course will emphasize concise and effective oral and written business and academic communication. The course focuses on professional writing styles for research and basic business communications, and introduces students to professional standards for public speaking and team-building. |
| COMPUTER APPLICATIONS [NCG 5055] |
| An introductory course designed to assist students in understanding and using computers in business. Topics include business applications using spreadsheets, database management, presentation graphics, and project management programs. This course provides the student with the basics necessary to use computer applications in business courses. |
